About Event

The Society of Mechanical Engineers, a student run organization under the guidance of faculty, is committed to providing cutting edge knowledge for the students of Mechanical Engineering community. With the Department of Mechanical Engineering being only the second branch inducted in College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), SME commits itself in maintaining the vast heritage and rich legacy that has been associated with the Department and our campus.
The activities of SME CEG are aimed at bridging the gap between institution and industry, making the transition from college to corporate life seamlessly perfect. SME also vests its interests in making the budding engineers good citizens of the country, exploring the possibilities of tomorrow with regards to engineering and technology.
Placement programs, guest lectures, hands on training and so much more for the benefit of the future engineers are organized periodically as a step in shaping the future of the world.
All the activities of SME culminate in the annual technical symposium of the Mechanical Engineering Department - "Pinnacle." With advanced workshops, mind blowing technical sessions, scintillating events and more, Pinnacle 2017 is back for the student community.

How to reach College of Engineering Guindy Anna University, Chennai

1) FROM CHENNAI EGMORE

Take 23C bus from Egmore bus stop and drop down at Anna University bus stop.

Take a local train (towards Tambaram) from Egmore railway station and get down at Guindy railway station. Walk to Guindy bus stand and take 21G or 54F or T70 to reach Anna University.

2) FROM KOYAMBEDU

Take T70 bus from koyembus bus terminal (CMBT) and get down at Anna University bus stop.

Take metro train from Koyembedu metro station and get down at Alandur Metro station. From Alandur bus stand (Kathipara bus stand) take 21G bus to reach Anna University.

3) FROM TAMBARAM

Take 21G bus from Tambaram and get down at Anna University.

Get a local train (towards Chennai Beach) from Tambaram railway station and get down at Guindy railway station. Walk to Guindy bus stand and take 21G or 54F or T70 to reach Anna University.

4) FROM PERUNGALUTHUR

Get a local train (towards Chennai Beach) from Perungaluthur railway station and get down at Guindy railway station. Walk to Guindy bus stand and take 21G or 54F or T70 to reach Anna University.

5) FROM CHENNAI CENTRAL

Walk to Park town station from Chennai central. Take a local train (towards Velachery) and get down at Kasturibai Nagar railway station (Madhya kailash). From Madhya Kailash bus stand take any one of the buses: 5E, 23C, T70, 54F, 47, 47D, 599, 19B to reach Anna University.
